Patriotism

The United States government was established under the motto of “Liberty and Justice for All.” Justice, however, is not always served; accused criminals pay off cops and judges so they can escape their penalty. People of different religions are often looked down upon by hypocrites. Homosexuals are often denied jobs because their employers are homophobic. Was this truly the vision of the future that the creators of the United States saw?
If this is what was interpreted as justice, then justice is fleeing.
Poverty has reached to around 1.7 billion people worldwide. Many predict this event will lead to the United States economy’s government collapsing and causing even more problems than ever. What would happen after this crisis? Would people leave the ruins of the United States economy and move to Europe, Africa, or Asia in a futile hope to escape poverty? Even if people where to leave it would not cause the problem to disappear only delay the inevitable. You can never bury a problem, you can only solve it. In “The Series of Unfortunate Events the Serpent room” three orphans are being hunted down by a corrupt man named Count Olaf. They are soon adopted by their distant relative, Dr. Montgomery, but their problem soon catches up to them. This pattern continues for years until finally they solved their problem in a twisted way. Even though they chose murder to resolve their issue. There were, however, more possibilities to resolve the issue. People should take their time and observe the outcome instead of rushing into a random conclusion. People who improvise are missing a component to reach their conclusion. Those who improvise usually don’t reach their conclusion, or put in much more effort than required. A twenty-one year old homosexual, Matthew Shephard, was kidnapped and brutally tortured to death. The reason why these people killed this man is because they saw it was wrong to be a homosexual. People used to think Martin Luther King Jr. was wrong for trying to give rights to African Americans, that is until they saw how large the impact was they changed their minds and accepted the fact that black people will be able to go and do everything they do. Yet some people still believe that Blacks shouldn’t have their equal rights.

“Justice denied anywhere diminishes justice everywhere, injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” –Martin Luther King Jr.
